Very lightly used and well maintained 2011 Canyon Nerve AM 8.0
This is an extremely fun, well-built, well-equipped full-suspension all-mountain/trail bike, size M (18.5 in) from one of the leading direct-to-consumer bike makers (Canyon, based in Germany). It looks and rides like new, it is very light (13kg), a great climber, agile and quick, plush, very stable, fast and confidence-inspiring going downhill or shredding trails.
The bike was purchased in Spain (for $3,400) before Canyon started selling in the USA, then put in storage due to a job-related move.... (read more) It has been stored for 5 of the 9 years I've had it. There are no marks anywhere on the bike except for minor scuffs on the bottom of the crank arms from trail riding.
This bike is not as long or as slack as the latest models out there, but it is really nimble and responsive, and it is a very well made, high-end, German-engineered bike that performs extremely well all around, for thousands of dollars less than a comparable new ride.
The frame is 7005 series aluminum, with 150mm of travel in front and 140mm in back, and 26” wheels. The 8.0 was the 2nd tier bike in the Nerve AM (all-mountain) lineup, and accordingly is stacked with high-end components (all original except for new SRAM Level rear brake):
Front fork: Fox 32 Performance Talas 150/120 (can be set at either 150 or 120mm)
Rear shock: Fox Performance Float RP23 Boostvalve; with 3 firmness settings, plus rebound, compression and Propedal settings to reduce pedal bob
Seatpost: Rockshox Reverb dropper post
Shifters/derailleurs: Shimano XTR 3x10
Cranks: Shimano XT
Wheels: DT Swiss AM 1800
Brakes: Avid Elixir R (front); SRAM Level (rear: new this month) (discs are 203mm and 185mm)
Bars: Easton EC70 carbon
Stem: Syntace F149
Seat: Selle Italia SL Kit Carbonio
Grips: Canyon Bracelets (lock-on)
